This footage covers two major fires in Chinatown.On Feb. 24, 2009 you will see a 5th alarm that started on the 2nd floor of a 6 story brick O/M/D. Fire quickly spread throughout the structure and intomexposure. Many civilians had to be assisted in evacuations. everal MAY-DAY's were transmitted. Extremely heavy fire out of rear of building. The second fire, 7th alarm, occured on April 11, 2010 at 283 Grand Street which included stores and dwellings above. Extreme heavy fire spread through the building and next door at 285 Grand St. People evacuated by fire escapes. Fire eventually spread to the roof of 289 Grand and the incident commander evacuated buildings. Lots of action and equipment. Many special alarms and FAST ladder were called. 40 minutes, hear all radio traffic.
